Nature Tourism Services is an Australian company that specialises in delivering innovative interpretive and visitor orientation design solutions.
Decades of experience in interpretation planning underpins all our project work. We connect traditional interpretation sign, maps and print media product with interpretive digital products including tourism webapps and PDF smartphone guides.
In 2006, we undertook the design, production and installation of all the signage promoting the then newly created Great Tropical Drive for 17 local visitor centres ranging from Townsville to Cooktown and inland to Charters Towers and Georgetown. We subcontracted Screenmakers Pty Ltd to undertake the production and installation of this signage.
Following straight on from the completion of the core signage project for the Great Tropical Drive, we were employed by the Townsville Enterprise to produce a series of interpretive signs for the region to upgrade the on ground visitor experience associated with the new drive product. We undertook this project in collaboration with local writer Colin Balfour of Balfour Consulting and signage manufacturers Screenmakers.
